The Full House favorite revealed on Today that doctors found p16 squamous carcinoma “at the base of [his] tongue” during a routine PET scan. “It was a really tough year, chemotherapy was grueling,” the 66-year-old said, stressing this new diagnosis is “totally unrelated to the previous cancer that I had.” When doctors spotted something glowing on his scan, Coulier asked if it came from the lymphoma. Their answer: “Totally unrelated.”
A painful biopsy confirmed the news. “I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’” he recalled. Now he’s powering through 35 rounds of radiation, wrapping December 31, and says the “prognosis is very good… a 90+ curability rate.”
