Jenna Ortega at the 32nd Annual Actor Awards
MARIA MOLINO: I might be biased, because I’m completely obsessed with her. She is the ultimate gothic muse. Love this gown on her. I love how it fits her. However, those gray sheer thigh-highs are really throwing me off. Especially paired with black sandals. I would have preferred to have seen it with a nude sheer, and maybe a gold heel.
REBECCA FRIEDMAN: At first glance, this look screams vintage lingerie chic, and the silky fabric with lace detailing does have a certain delicate, ethereal vibe. But the execution feels a little messy. The frayed edges and ill-fitting bodice make it look like the dress is struggling to stay together rather than making a statement. The thigh-high stocking and chunky platform heels clash with the delicate gown, creating an odd mix of dainty and grunge. Still, credit where it’s due: the plunging neckline and soft waves give her a sultry, old-Hollywood energy that partially rescues the look.
