MET GALA RUNDOWN: Who Nailed the 'Fashion Is Art' Theme — and Who Totally Missed the Mark?
OK!'s own fashion expert is here to break down the night's biggest looks.
Met Gala Monday took over NYC – and the looks? Absolutely wild. 😳
With the “Costume Art” theme and a “Fashion Is Art” dress code, stars came ready to serve drama, spectacle, and seriously bold statements.
Now, OK!’s official style expert and costume designer Maria Molino is breaking it all down – from jaw-dropping hits to total fashion flops (and trust us… she did not hold back).
So who nailed it… and who completely missed the mark? Let’s get into the expert rundown.
MADONNA
MARIA: It is certainly different, and not what I would have expected! I’m glad Vaccarello pulled off one over the top custom moment. I love the reference to Leonora Carrington’s art. Especially considering Madonna has used her art as reference before in her “Bedtime Story” video. It was executed rather well, but the ‘ladies-in-waiting’ looks are lazy looking. The use of the gowns that walked down the runway at YSL’s SS26 show would have been a better fit when looking at the original painting.
