James Sells Nostalgic Movie Items to Help Fund His Cancer Care
James Van Der Beek is saying goodbye to some of his most iconic TV and movie keepsakes – all to help fund his colorectal cancer treatment.
The Dawson’s Creek star is putting major memorabilia on the auction block, including Dawson Leery’s black stone necklace, his pilot-episode outfit, and other fan-favorite props from the teen-drama era that made him famous. “I’ve been storing these treasures for years… it’s clear that the time is now,” he said, admitting nostalgia is hitting hard but he’s grateful to share the items “with those who have supported my work over the years.”
The legendary necklace – worn for three seasons before Dawson gifted it to Joey – starts at £10,000. He’s also offloading Varsity Blues gear, including Mox’s cleats and his West Canaan Coyotes snapback.
The auction kicks off December 6, giving fans a rare chance to own a piece of Van Der Beek history.

She also got to watch Camila Mendes get engaged – and their cast bond is still ironclad. “We’re all still very close… It’s so rare, and I am so lucky,” she gushed, adding that living together in Vancouver was “such a close connection that you can’t get rid of!”
Now she’s gearing up for a “really big, exciting year” and feeding her newfound Formula 1 obsession. “It’s about connecting and reconnecting… It’s really fun. I am very excited to be here.”
