According to the filings, the four University of Idaho students were stabbed at least 150 times combined in the November 13, 2022 attack. Kaylee Goncalves suffered at least 38 stab wounds, Madison Mogen 28, Xana Kernodle a devastating 67, and Ethan Chapin 17. One victim sustained extensive facial and head injuries, another had fatal damage to vital organs, and Kernodle – the only one believed to have fought back – showed wounds across nearly every part of her body.
Investigators later found a KA-BAR knife sheath at the scene, with “touch DNA” that led them to Bryan Kohberger.
He ultimately pleaded guilty in July 2025 and is now serving life in prison – but these documents lay bare the sheer violence behind one of the most haunting crimes in recent memory.
