Hayden’s Final Campaign Released Weeks After Emotional Shoot
Hayden Panettiere left behind one final message.
PETA has released a campaign filmed roughly two weeks before the actress’ death, showing Panettiere speaking out against marine parks and the captivity of dolphins and other marine wildlife.
For the shoot, the 36-year-old squeezed herself into a bathtub to demonstrate the confinement endured by animals kept in small tanks. “Can you imagine their frustration, their trauma, their depression?” she asked. “All that is important and crucial for their well-being is ripped away.”
Panettiere had spent years advocating for animals, famously paddling into the waters off Taiji, Japan, in 2007 to confront dolphin hunters — a moment later featured in the Oscar-winning documentary The Cove.
“Together, we can end this cruelty,” she said at the end of the new campaign. Just weeks later, it became one of her final appearances on camera.

Panettiere died Sunday at 36 following a suspected overdose. As questions surrounding her final days continue, Kelly has now turned the spotlight brutally back onto the family she believes should have protected her.
