Olympic freestyle skier Alex Hall is still riding high after returning from the 2026 Winter Games in Italy with a silver medal, adding to the slopestyle gold he won for Team USA at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

But while the slopes in Livigno delivered another podium finish, the trip also had a personal twist – competing in the country where much of his family is from. Now partnering with Rao’s Homemade, Hall sat down with OK! Senior Editor Rebecca Friedman to talk about the surreal experience of skiing at the Olympics in Italy, how little fame has changed his day-to-day life – and why simple pasta dishes still remind him of home.

REBECCA: You won your first Olympic gold medal in 2022, and then in 2026 you still landed on the podium with a silver. What was that experience like coming back as the defending gold medalist?

ALEX: I was definitely grateful to medal again. Coming in, I probably put a little more pressure on myself just because I was the defending gold medalist. But once I was there, it just felt like another event. My goal was to ski my best and have a good time doing it. If I could get a medal in the process, that would be amazing.
