After two decades in the spotlight – from boy band stardom to solo success and Broadway leads – Ashley Parker Angel is stepping into a very different kind of role.

The former O-Town heartthrob sat down with OK! Senior Editor Jaclyn Roth to reveal why he walked away from entertainment at the height of opportunity to go all in on health and wellness. In the candid chat, Angel opens up about fame pressure, burnout, turning down major offers, and why he believes this new chapter is the most meaningful of his life.

JACLYN: First off, I want to hear all about the supplement brand, High Level Science. This is a new venture for you, so why now? What sparked it?

ASHLEY: I feel like I spent a couple decades in entertainment, and as a singer and an actor I was working with the best in fitness and nutrition and peak performance coaches. Going from the boy band bootcamp days to a solo career, I’m really grateful – I sold 10 million albums over that time, did two hit TV shows, and then pivoted successfully into Broadway with my dream roles, like Wicked, Hairspray, Creep. I was consistently beating out other performers, and I was consistently winning at it.

And I think a big part of that was because I was always really keyed into not just my physical health, but my mental health and wellbeing. Learning all these things gave me a real advantage. And so after 20 years of doing that, I was really excited to pivot and start teaching people a lot of what I’d learned, because I looked around and I would have conversations.
