FULL Q&A: Katherine Schwarzenegger Reveals the 'Special' Tradition She Has With Husband Chris Pratt: 'I've Saved All the Cards'
A rare glimpse into her most meaningful family rituals.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Katherine Schwarzenegger sat down with OK! Senior Editor Jaclyn Roth for a thoughtful Q&A about love, tradition, and the handwritten habits that have shaped her family for years.
The conversation begins with Katherine opening up about her partnership with Hallmark – and why, in an increasingly digital world, taking the time to write a card has remained a meaningful way for her to celebrate not just her husband, but everyone she loves.
Let’s dive in.
JACLYN: Valentine’s Day is approaching so quickly. I’d love to talk to you about your partnership with Hallmark and why it works so well for you.
KATHERINE: Part of my New Year’s routine every year is stocking up on Hallmark cards, so I feel prepared for Valentine’s Day with every member of my family and my friends. I love that Valentine’s Day isn’t just about my husband and me, but also celebrating the people in my life who I love and who care about me and my family. Filling out a card or writing a handwritten card is such a thoughtful way to do that. I do this every year – for my mom, my sister, my brothers, my kids.
Hallmark has amazing cards for kids too. I’m excited about all the Valentine’s parts to come and finding something romantic and sweet for Chris. Handwritten cards have been part of my life my entire life. My mom stressed the importance of handwritten thank you cards, birthday cards, and just-because cards. It’s not just buying a gift – it’s showing someone you took the time to write them a card.
Every year my mom says all she wants is a handwritten card. It’s so meaningful, especially in a busy, chaotic world. I grew up with that being part of my life and manners. When the opportunity came to work with Hallmark, it felt seamless and made complete sense. Hallmark has always been a big part of my life, so it’s been one of the most exciting partnerships I’ve done.
JACLYN: You and Chris started a writing tradition early on. Tell me about how you’ve kept that love language going.
