FULL Q&A: Aly Raisman & Amy Purdy Open Up About Pressure, Purpose and Finding Joy Beyond the Podium
The Olympic icons reflect on mental health & celebrating life beyond medals.
Two powerhouse athletes, two very different journeys – one shared message. 🏅
During Hershey’s intimate Fireside Chat + Luncheon to kick off the Opening Ceremony and debut the first chapter of its new campaign, Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman and Paralympic champion Amy Purdy sat down with OK! Senior Editor JACLYN ROTH for a heartfelt conversation about redefining success beyond medals.
From embracing the in-between moments to prioritizing mental health and discovering purpose after competition, the duo opened up about pressure, passion, and what happiness REALLY looks like.
You don’t want to miss it.
JACLYN: Tell me a little bit about being here with Hershey’s today.
AMY: I am so excited to be here with Hershey, especially to celebrate happiness and what it really looks like as an Olympic or Paralympic athlete – like the pursuit of the things that you love, not necessarily focusing on just the outcome. I love that Hershey sees that and is celebrating that.
It’s really good for our mental health as athletes to remember that happiness comes in these little moments in between – not when you’re standing at the top of the podium. It’s an honor to be here and represent Hershey in this way and represent the Olympic and Paralympic games as well.
