Grammy-winning super-producer Timbaland is no stranger to turning earworms into cultural moments – and his latest project proves inspiration can come from anywhere, even the cheese aisle.

Teaming up with Babybel for its first-ever music collaboration, he remixed the brand’s playful jingle into a nostalgic mini “wax” track built for TikTok, social media, and modern remix culture. Sitting down with OK! Senior Editor REBECCA FRIEDMAN, Timbaland breaks down why the idea instantly clicked, how old-school vinyl energy still fuels his creativity, where AI fits (and doesn’t), and why staying curious is the real secret to longevity.

Check out the unfiltered Q&A below:

OK!: You’re here today to talk about Babybel and its first-ever music collaboration. What kind of clicked for you when you turned “I’m Your Baby” into this mini wax track concept? How did you put your own stamp on something so playful and nostalgic?

TIMBALAND: To me, it was a no-brainer. If it’s something that you can repeat — and see how you just moved your head — “I’m your, if, if, if” — that’s the same thing I did when I first heard it. These are the songs that play for a long time. Now that we have TikTok and all these socials, next thing you know, we’re going to see commercials and people using content with this song saying, “I got my Babybel and my salad,” all that.
