EXCLUSIVE: New JFK Jr. Series 'Love Story' Slated for 'Laying Waste' to One of World's Most Beloved Actresses
Fans say one legacy gets unfairly dragged.
Daryl Hannah wasn’t supposed to be the headline – but now she is.
The Hollywood icon has become the surprise lightning rod of Disney+’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette, with furious viewers accusing the series of “laying waste” to one of Tinseltown’s most beloved stars.
The drama charts the romance between John F. Kennedy Jr., who died in 1999 aged 38, and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who was 33 when she died alongside him in a plane crash.
Released to intense anticipation from fashion devotees, Kennedy historians and loyal followers of the Kennedy political dynasty, the series has instead sparked debate over its depiction of Hannah, now 65 – who dated Kennedy for around five years before their 1994 split.
Played by Dree Hemingway, 38, Hannah is portrayed during the waning months of her relationship with Kennedy – and viewers have been quick to question the tone of the series.
Online reaction gathered pace after the first three episodes dropped.
